The Environmental Protection Agency has a requirement for two digital network systems able to provide LAN printing, scanning, fax and walk-up copying meeting the following specifications: Aficio 455 or equivalent, with the following features: 1. General features: ABS binary image compression; vertical paper path; stackless design allowing limitless duplex jobs for sizes up to 11" x 17"; flash ROM upgrades; dual laser beams for quieter working environment; feed reverse roller system; automatic noise cleaning system; page order scanning eliminating precount for single to double sided duplexing. 2. Copier Features: 45 copies per minute; covers and paper designate; digitally enabled features for image manipulation: double copy, repeat copy and positive/negative; 400 dpi resolution in 256 levels of gray scale; electronic sorting; archiving file feature. 3. Facsimile Features: 33.6 Kbps modem for 3 second per page transmission; intelligent auto "fallback" modem; JBIG compression for halftones transmission at 400 dpi; auto orientation adjustment for incoming / outgoing faxes; ISDN fax option for 64 Kbps transmission; batch transmission and serial broadcasting; confidential reception. 4. Printing Features: 45 pages per minute; local or network printing with either PC or Mac; PCL6 emulation for work with many popular applications; optional Adobe PostScript 3 module; image smoothing technology for printing of ledger size documents from letter size format. 5. 12 month maintenance agreement. 6. Offerors should include trade-in considerations for EPA's currently used Canon FAX L770 and Hewlett Packard LaserJet Series II Printer when responding.
