is a market survey to find sources for "domestic made" steel sheet
piling. It is anticipated that delivery of the piling will be for
December 1999, to London Locks & Dam, London, West Virginia. We may
need 26 pieces of piling at a minimum length of 38 feet long each. The
metal sheet piling shall be hot-rolled steel sections conforming to
ASTM A 328 328/A 328M, and shall meet the following minimum
specifications: nominal web thickness is 0.5 inch, nominal flange
thickness is 0.6 inch, section modulus per linear foot of wall is 60.7
inch, weight per square foot of wall is 39.7 pounds, weight per linear
foot of piling is 65.6 pounds. The interlocks of the fabricated sheet
piling sections shall be free-sliding, provide a swing angle suitable
for the intended installation but not less than 5 degrees when
interlocked, and maintain continuous interlocking when installed. Sheet
piling, including special fabricated sections, shall be full-length
sections of the dimensions herein described. Fabricated sections shall
conform to these requirements and the piling manufacturer's
recommendations for fabricated sections. The above supply items must
meet the "Commercial Item" definition as referenced in "FAR 2.101. A
SIC Code of 3312 is anticipated to be established for the solicitation.
