Revised Due Date. The due date to submit a quote for the project below
is 2:00 pm May 17, 1999. The USDA Forest Service, Regional Office,
Vallejo, CA has a requirement for exterior electrostatic painting of
metal furniture items. This job is open to both large and small
business firms. This notice is both a CBD Announcement and a Request
for Quote. Interested firms are to submit a proposal in accordance with
the following information. Scope of Work: Electrostaticlypaint
approximately 1171 metal furniture items to match the trim color of
Steelcase systems furniture. All lateral files, one piece bookcases,
and stackable bookcase sections with and without glass doors are to be
painted on the exterior and interior. All other items are to be
painted on the exterior only. Work is to be done on-site (HVAC will be
set on exhaust) on weekends only, beginning at 5:00 pm on Fridays
through 12:00 am on Mondays. Work is to be completed by June 21, 1999.
All items are located at the USDA Forest Service Regional Office
building at 1323 Club Drive, Vallejo, CA 94592 on Mare Island.
Specifications: 1)All surfaces must be sanded using 220 or finer wet or
dry abrasive paper. Feathering all chipped or scratched areas as needed
to produce a finish that does not show edge lines. 2) All surfaces must
be washed, rinsed, dried and, immediately prior to being painted, wiped
with a tac cloth. 3) All hardware must removed or masked. Surfaces not
receiving finish, including identifying numbers, labels, glass fronts,
etc. are to be masked. 4) Paint must match Steelcase color #4700 --
Warm White and specifications for paint used on the Steelcase Avenir
