STATEMENT OF WORK: GENERAL: This contractor shall provide all labor,
material, tools, equipment and supervision necessary to renovate
building #835 (MCSS) in accordance with attached design,
specifications, notes therein and all attached and referenced
documents. All work to be performed at the Selfridge ANGB located east
of Mt. Clemens, MI. SCOPE: All work shall be performed in accordance
with design and specifications, requirements noted herein, related
documents and attachments and applicable federal, state and local codes
and regulations and shall be performed in a manner consistent with the
standard practices of the industry and trades involved. Should a
conflict exist between standard practice and codes or regulations, the
code and/or regulation shall prevail. Work shall include, but not
necessarily be limited to: Demolition: Masonry and gypsum board wall
removal; Framed ceiling, suspended ceiling removal and removal of
asbestos composition floor tile; Removal and disposal of all related
debris. Construction, (furnish and install complete, unless otherwise
noted): Gypsum board walls and door openings; Lay-in lighting fixtures
and related electrical work, (per dwg. Spec.); Replacement of
suspended ceiling, acoustical tile and cleaning of existing metal grid
; Option "A" -- Replacement of acoustical ceiling tile AND metal grid,
complete; Four roof mounted cooling units complete with roof supports,
openings and patching, as required, (units as specified or equal);
Emergency and exit lighting with battery back-up; INSTALL ONLY,
customer furnished vinyl composition floor tile and carpeting; Doors,
complete with framing and all required hardware; Interior painting of
Retail Sales store area walls; Electrical circuits, wire, conduit,
disconnects, JB's, etc. to serve cooling units and additional light
fixtures; Janitorial electrical receptacles and circuit at 20 LF
intervals around the perimeter of the Retail Sales space, (14 (+/-)
req'd); Heat detectors and extension of fire alarm system, as required.
(all alarm work must be coordinated with the Base Fire Dept. 307-4363
and the adjacent occupant); Add silent electronic "duress" alarm system
with signal to the Police Station Control Room, B#300. (communication
wiring by "others"); Relocate existing Fire Alarm, Annunciator panel.
(Simple remount to adjacent wall req'd!). Preliminary Survey:
Confirmation of existing electrical distribution panel capacity and
its' ability to support cooling units and other loads, as required;
Identification of electrical panel currently supporting the existing
lighting systems and capacity to support fifty additional fixtures,
(4-32w lamps /fixt.). REFERENCE DRAWINGS & SPECS: Reference drawings
and specifications consist of: (1) This Statement of Work; (2) One
Construction drawing and notes, sht. 1 of 3; (3) One combination HVAC
and Fire Protection drawing and notes, sht. 2 of 3; (4) One Demolition
titled drawing and notes, sht. 3 of 3. IMPLEMENTATION OF WORK: The
work site must be maintained in a neat and orderly fashion at all
times, broom swept or equivalent at the end of each workday. All hand
tools must be assembled and stored in a locked container or removed
from the site, at the contractors' discretion. All materials must be
neatly stored in a suitable, customer designated area accessible to the
work site. Materials subject to damage by inclement weather shall be
covered, or otherwise protected, as required. The interior work site
may be utilized for material storage if properly protected from damage.
Materials remain the property of the contractor until installed and
accepted at close of the contract. The contractor shall provide a
dumpster to collect and transport demolition and/or construction
debris, as required. The customers dumpsters may not be utilized
without the specific consent of the COR. The work site is to be
available NLT 1 June 1999. All work must be complete (including punch
list correctional items), system tryout, etc., NLT 13 Sept. 1999. The
contractor shall submit a written schedule of anticipated construction
activities and milestones within seven work days of order receipt. The
schedule shall indicate proposed "Start" and "Completion" dates and
include; demolition, wall erection, lighting and ceiling work, A/C unit
installation, electrical, etc. EXISTING CONDITIONS: The contractor
shall visit the site to observe and confirm existing conditions prior
to submitting cost proposal. Failure to recognize visible conditions
and interference that subsequently impact costs, may not be considered
for a contract cost increase. Subject work addresses one building and
two occupancies. The contractor shall proceed with caution during any
utility disconnect as the utility may service the second occupant, as
well. Therefore, prior to any disconnect or utility shut-down the
contractor must coordinate activity with the adjoining occupant.
PROPOSAL: The contractor shall submit a base cost proposal in
accordance with the original RFP. Suggestions, alternate designs and/or
exceptions to the design or specification must be identified, fully
described, cost estimated and submitted with the contractor's RFP
compliant proposal. Optional costs must be identified as such and must
be presented as An "add or deduct" to the base bid. Posted 05/13/99
