The U.S. Army Material Command Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division has a requirement for self-contained and portable commercial replacement refrigeration units. The replacement refrigeration units will be coupled with existing 8 feet by 8 feet by 10 feet refrigerator containers, and shall meet the requirements set forth in the "Performance Purchase Description for Commercial Refrigeration Unit, dated 19-March-1999. Requirements will also consist of New Equipment Training, and Options for a Two (2) Year Extended Warranty and Contractor's Initial Support and Installation of the units. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) for this procurement is 3585. The Government envisions the use of a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP), Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. Delivery rate for production units shall be 100 per month starting 90 days after receipt of delivery order. New Equipment Training shall begin 120 days from date of contract award. The guaranteed minimum shall be 250 units, with a maximum quantity of 575 units. The ordering period shall be 20 months after contract award date. The procurement will utilize Simplified Acquisitions Procedures in amounts greater than $100,000 as authorized in FAR 13.5 "Test Program for Certain Commercial Items".
