of Engraving and Printing has a requirement for Currency Strap and
Bundle Band Paper. The currency strap paper will be used to wrap a
stack of 100 finished currency notes. The currency bundle band paper
will be used to wrap a stack of 10 strapped packs of 100 finished
currency notes each. Both papers shall be suitable for hot melt
adhesive application and heat-sealing. The currency strap paper must be
suitable for printing. An unrestricted full and open competitive
solicitation is planned. A single award fixed-price indefinite
delivery/indefinite quantity type contract is anticipated, encompassing
a base period of twelve months and four (4) twelve month option
periods. The estimated quantity for currency strap band paper is
approximately 3,860,000 linear feet per ordering period and currency
bundle band paper is approximately 868,500 linear feet per ordering
period. This procurement will be negotiated and awarded according to
the procedures set forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
Part 12. Offerors will be requested to submit a material sample with
their offer. The source selection process will be based upon overall
best value to the BEP, price and non-price factors considered. It is
anticipated that a solicitation will be issued on or about May 24,
1999. A thirty five day response time is planned. BEP is also posting
this announcement on GSA_s Electronic Posting System (EPS) at
http://www.eps.gov/. Interested vendors will be able to download this
synopsis as well as the solicitation itself from EPS. Hard/written
copies of the solicitation will not be issued. Prospective offerors
