award a negotiated contract under the simplified acquisition threshold
for the following work at the Wood Education and Resource Center
(WERC), 301 Hardwood Lane, Princeton, WV 24740: The Request for
Quotation covers the design, fabrication, and construction of a closed
loop, dual trailer, loading, sawdust collection system modification to
the existing dust collection equipment, and the installation of an
additional fan silencer to the existing 24-inch system return. The work
includes, but is not limited to, professional design services, the
completion of construction drawings, specifications necessary to detail
and direct the constuction, and the execution of all the work required
for a complete and fully operational system. Incidental work to this
project includes construction of reinforced concrete aprons, with
reinforced concrete curb guides at the existing asphalt paved area, and
to furnish and install all supplementary or miscellaneous items,
appurtenances and devised incidental to, or necessary for a sound,
secure, and complete installation. The contractor is not responsible to
provide the trailers required for dust storage, however, specifications
for the design trailer type for this system, and necessary
modifications to the trailer for adaptation to the dust collection
system are required. If applicable the equipment must be Year 2000
compliant. This project is between $25,000 and $100,000. RFQ is
expected to be issued on or about May 28, 1999 and quotes will be due
on June 15, 1999 at 3:00PM. Requests MUST be in writing to the Radnor
