Sole-Source -- This publication serves as a notice of intent to procure on a sole-source basis, with Parr Instrument Company, 211 Fifty-Third Stree, Moline, IL 61265-1770, for the USDA Forest Service, Forest Products Laboratory, the following: Model 4555 Pressure Reactor, 5 gal., T-316 SS, 120 in/lb magnetic stirrer, 3/4hp var. motor, 3-zone ceramic heater, 0-2000 psi pressure gage, 2000 psi rupture disc, double valve assby. w/dip tube, gas release valve, thermowell and serpentine cooling coil, with direct-drive, ASME code stamp and cascade PID temperature control, 400/415 volt, w/ tachometer pkg, solenoid valve pkg, pressure transducer pkg, alternate gas entrainment stirrer w/baffle, alternate anchor stirrer, special support stand assby for rotation, modified cylinder bottom for 1/4" shaft bushing. Because of scheduled research trials delivery of complete unit is required no later than JUNE 18, 1999. Additional future requirement necessitates a unit that is capable of being configured into a reactor design in a horizaontal configuration for industrial scale research trials. Supplier selection is therefore based on the additional factor of expertise in configurations and modifications to accomplish this future adaptation. All interested concerns must submit documentation demonstrating the qualifications to provide the equipment and expertise listed above within 7 days of the publication of this notice.
