States Coast Guard is issuing a Sources Sought notice for information
pertaining to Windows NT software applications that will provide the
necessary interface between a PC and the Mobile Telesystems Inc.
MDT-6000 INMARSAT STD-C system. This interface should allow users to
perform the following functions: 1) Send and receive data including
electronic mail messages using the STD-C sys 2) Receive and display
STD-C GMDSS SafetyNet messages from the PC 3) Generate STD-C distress
messages from the PC and senf them via the STD-C tranceiver. This
market survey is being issued to identify sources interested in
providing the Windows NT software applications to interface the PC to
the MDT-6000. This is not a solicitation for proposals and no contract
will be awarded from this annoucement. The response should indicate
technical and contracting points of contact and business size. This
request for information in no way implies either implicitly or
explicitly that respondents will be compensated in any way by the
Government for information or materials provided. All information must
