FLETCHER, (228) 689-8369 The Naval Oceanographic Office intends to solicit and award a sole source contract to the Mississippi Research Consortium which consists of the University of Mississippi, Jackson State University, University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi State Universisty. The contract term will be for a period of three years and will provide academic presence for research and development efforts in support of the Navy at Stennis Space Center (SSC), Mississippi. The members of the Consortium have intimate knowledge of the SSC Navy programs, existing technology, and the environment within the Navy organization at SSC. It is the intent of this offie to issue an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type contract. The Consortium will furnish all labor, and materials necessary to provide management of the required tasks (as provided under individual delivery orders) and such requirements that may be required as tasks to be ordered under delivery orders in support of the Navy programs at SSC. The Consorium will provide technical expertise for research and scientific monitoring support to the Navy at SSC in areas of acoustics, image analysis, remote sensing, geographic information systems, hydrography, oceanography, marine science, high performance supercomputing and visualization software development, underwater vehicle engineering, technology transfer initiatives, oceanography education initiatives including distance learning techniques and other associated computational oceanography and engineering areas.
