The USDA/FSA, Acquisitions Management Branch, intends to procure a Y2K compliant appraisal software package for the Farm Loan Program area. The Farm Service Agency's Farm Loan Program area is accountable for providing both farm and rural housing appraisals. Property appraised as a farm has a combination of house, barn, and/or out buildings with acreage for agricultural production. Property appraised as a rural housing unit has a house and/or out buildings without acreage for agricultural production. These appraisals are used as the Agency administers direct and guaranteed loans and grants. The appraisal business process was automated about 6 years ago; however, the software used is Year 2000 (Y2K) noncompliant. The Agency must procure a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) appraisal software package that is Y2K compliant. The contractor shall also provide appraisal training on the operation of the software, maintenance of the appraisal software, and technical support to end-users. The period of performance shall be for a base and four option years. The Government reserves the right to award multiple contracts for this procurement. Interested parties capable of performing the above work should submit a written request for the solicitation to Nancy Dorman within 3 days from publication of this announcement. Facsimile requests for the solicitation may be sent to (202) 690-0689 and must be in the English language. Telephonic requests for the solicitation will not be honored. This procurement will be a small business set-aside. The Government intends on awarding a fixed price type contract for this work. Those vendors who have already submitted requests for this solicitation need not submit another request.
