POC for copy, Ms. Sharon Thompson (619) 553-2199. SPAWARSYSCEN San Diego has a requirement for the operation of a Government owned research vessel, the RV Acoustic Explorer. This vessel provides at-sea support for Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) programs. The scope of this effort is for services to operate the craft and perform routine maintenance and repair functions. The vessel is a steel hull, twin screw, house forward, oceanographic research vessel built in 1981 and refitted in 1988. This requirement is 100% small business set aside. The applicable Standard Industrial Code (SIC) and Size Standard is: 8711, $20 million. Offerors will be required to submit both technical and cost proposals. The government may use oral presentations to assess offeror's capability. The contract duration is anticipated as a one year base period and four one year option periods to be exercised at the governments discretion.
