NOTICE OF INTENT OF GSA'S INTENT TO NEGOTIATE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
16,500 NET USEABLE SQUARE FEET OF OFFICE AND SHOP SPACE AND 20 PAVED
PARKING SPACES ANCHORAGE, ALASKA The General Services Administration,
GSA, announces that it intends to negotiate sole source for a building
to be constructed on the vacant site located at the southeast corner
of "A" Street and 5th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska, to provide an office,
shop and vehicle maintenance facility for the Federal Bureau of
Investigation, FBI. This specific location is required to provide
additional security and services to support the adjacent FBI
administrative building on which there is a long-term lease that
extends through 2014. The owner of this site, Eklutna, Inc., does not
wish to lose control of this site, as it is part of a larger two square
block holding that they intend to maintain intact into the future.
Therefore, we are unable to offer the project for bid under a
competitive process, and still meet the security needs of the agency.
The design and construction of the project will be developed using a
competitive design and build process controlled by Eklutna, Inc.. For
