Project consists of approximately 9.03 miles of forest road reconstruction, and 1.23 miles of new road construction. Major items of work include clearing and grubbing, excavation, placement of 2740 tons of aggregate base, reconditioning of roadbed, seeding and mulching, removal of trees, installing drainage ditches, graded dips, swales, channel excavation, lead off ditches, catch basins, inlet basins, waterbars, steel barricade, placement of concrete sacked riprap, and corrugated metal pipes. Estimated price range is $100,000 to $250,000. There will be no pre-bid tour or meeting. Work to start approximately August 9, 1999. Project is broken into to separate areas: To reach area (1) from Placerville, travel east 25 miles on US Route 50 to Riverton. Then travel 14 miles north on Ice-House Road (17N12) to the Peavine Ridge Road (11N55) intersection. Then follow the location map to each individual road. To reach area (2) from Placerville, travel east 25 miles on US Route 50 to Riverton. Then travel 23 miles north on Ice-House Road (17N12) to the Sourth Fork Road (13N28)intersection, and 24 miles to the Loon Lake Road (14N01) intersection.
