What is meant in the synopsis to the requirement that display units should include a website address for on-line parts ordering and graphics evaluation? A. Many companies already have web addresses that make possible ordering replacement components and new graphic designs. This would be considered a plus in selecting a contractor. 2. Q. Was the dimension of 52 in. X 10 in. and less than 20 lbs. for the display unit a hard case dimension or a display (packed) dimension? A. Contractor may propose either model. 3. Q. Is the graphic image loose hanging in the frame (like a trade show graphic) or is it mounted on a foam core and then mounted? A. Both options are possible so long as they can pack small to meet the overall size constraints. 4. Q. Is an image available for use in creating a sample graphic for the proposal? A. Yes, but the use of this image is not mandatory. Sample images can be found at www.nrc.navy.mil/temp/images.htm 5. Q. What is the anticipated life of the graphic? A. Several years. 6. Q. What kind of materials (substrates) are the panels to be printed on and what thickness is required? A. The Statement of Work asked for vinyl, but any similar waterproof material would be acceptable based on commercial practices. The thickness should also be according to commercial practices. 7. Q. How do the protective cases integrate with the drapes? A. They could use snaps, Velcro, etc. It is up to the contractor. 8. Q. What does the government mean by telescoping uprights must retract automatically? A. Anything that does not require the operator to have a tool or physical strength to accomplish. 9. Q. What output resolution (dpi/ppi) will the Government's prepared files be provided at? A. 300 dpi at one-quarter size. 10. Q. Is there a list of approved vendors available? A.: No. This is a commercial item and many possible units could be acceptable. 11. Q. Will the graphic files for the printed panels be provided to the Contractor at the exact Output size desired? A. Yes, as specified by the Contractor. 12. Q. How can components be interchangeable and capable of being combined with other units into larger displays? A. Offerors may suggest how the stands can be joined. The displays will be combined horizontally -- not vertically, so many methods are possible. Visual appeal and ease are both considerations. 13. Q. What is the size and material of the "integrated table drapes with Navy monochrome graphics" mentioned in the statement of work? A. The size should be sufficient to cover a typical convention booth table, approximately two ft wide by six feet long. The material is at the Contractor's suggestion based on durability and appearance. Colors are gold lettering on a dark blue or Navy blue material. 14. Q. How large is the graphic and is it printed on both sides? It is 7 feet high and four feet wide, printed on both sides. It could be either a rigid or roll-up graphic, but the whole unit must be meet the dimensions described in the statement of work. 15. Q. is the height of the stand? Can it be eight or ten feet high? A. It is up to the contractor. The graphic is seven feet however, so it cannot be shorter than this. 16. Q. Is there a vendor of the portable display system that the specification was developed around? A. No, numerous models were reviewed as well as commercial literature and commercial websites. 17. Q. How frequently will the display be used? A. About 20 times a week. 18. Q. Does this mean 187 panels printed with the same graphical image on the front side as well as the reverse side? A. No. Each panel will have two different images so that the recruiter will have more available. 19. Q. Are graphical images to be printed in high resolution, four-color process, or spot colors only? A. Four-color process or other high quality process. Posted 05/19/99 (W-SN333471). (0139)
