McMeekin, Contracting Officer, 202-219-6445 The Presidential Task Force on Employment of Adults with Disabilities has a requirement for consultative services in developing a public awareness campaign to increase employment of adults with disabilities. A sole source contract for these services has been approved by the Department of Labor's Procurement Review Board under FAR 6.302-1, with Margeotes-Fertitta Partners LLC. Margeotes-Fertitta Partners is developing a Public Service Announcement entitled "Confessions: A Public Service Announcement to Combat Persistent Attitudinal Barriers That People with Disabilities Face in the Workplace and in Life," for the National Organization on Disability (NOD). The NOD is a non-profit organization that is the only national disability network organization concerned with all disabilities. Because NOD is the only established national disability network organization, it presents an excellent opportunity for the Task Force to utilize NOD's existing projects and networks to meet the aggressive time lines the President has set. Margeotes-Fertitta Partners is uniquely positioned to perform this work because of its experience in developing public service announcements, contacts in the entertainment industry, and most importantly, the pro bono work performed for the NOD that can be expanded upon, resulting in a savings of cost and time for the Task Force. This contract will permit the Task Force to expand upon the public awareness campaign effort that Margeotes-Fertitta Partners has already started in conjunction with a number of other disability organizations.
