The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) intends to enter into sole source negotiations with The Boeing Corporation, St. Louis MO 63166. Inspection Set P/N 74D110008-1001 is a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Non-Developmental item (NDI) from The Boeing Corporation. The item is Peculiar Support Equipment, which is used to perform Non Destructive Inspection (NDI) of main landing gear components of the F/A-18 aircraft. The proposed acquisition is for an item for which the Government does not own specifications or drawings. The technical data and drawings for the Inspection Set are proprietary to The Boeing Company. Delivery is required by 24 September 1999. NAWCADLKE intends to procure these items, quantity of one (1) kit, under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
