Mendoza 309-782-0243 DESC: The Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, Armament and Chemical Acquisition and Logistics Activity (TACOM/ACALA), Small Arms & Aircraft Armament Group, intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with FN Manufacturing, Inc. (FNMI), P. O. Box 24257, Columbia, South Carolina 29224, for the purpose of awarding a contract for Sustaining Technical Support (STS) for the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW). The contractor will be required to attach accessory and training equipment to the M249 SAW to enhance target acquisition of the soldier. The contractor will be required to modify the design of the handguard/heatshield, the bipod, or the rail attachment in order to ensure compatibility among components. The contractor shall provide a Level III Technical Data Package depicting the redesigned bipod, handguard/ heatshield, and attachment rails. The contractor shall manufacture 100 each of the bipods, handguard/heatshield, and hanger rails to the modified design. Solicitation documents are not available.
