overhaul of the Power Generator Unit (PGU) engines, which support the
Mobile Ground Segment of the Defense Support Program weapon system. The
contract will be an Indefinite- delivery/indefinite-quantity contract
with an ordering period of 3 years. The estimated quantity on the
contract is 20 engines per year. However, the guaranteed minimum is 4
engines, which will be issued on the first delivery order at the time
the contract is awarded. The approximate issue/response date will be 10
JUN 1999. Electronic procedure will be used for this solicitation. See
our Web page. This proposed procurement is under a 100 percent small
business set aside, the size standard for which is 1,000 employees. An
Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or
potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this
acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the
authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to
communicate contractor, concerns, issues, disagreements, and
recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When
requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the
source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the
evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. Interested
