Z -- RENOVATION OF BASKETBALL COURTS/INSTALL SOFBOARD DASHERBOARD SYSTEM SOL naf-99-s006 DUE 060899 POC chuck strickland (843) 764-7601 DESC: 1. This is a Request for Proposal to provide the MWR Fund, Naval Weapons Station with (1) Sofboard Dasherboard System(inline hockey/basketball court). Contractor to remove and dispose of existing basketball court, strip an area measuring 147 feet by 67 feet to a depth of 6 inches. After stripping and leveling, provide 4 inches of ROC and pave with 1 1/2 inches of type 4 asphalt. Contractor to provide and install Sofboard Dasherboard System (or equal) for an area measuring 144 feet long by 64 feet wide to include two each doors on each side. Offerors proposing other than listed manufacturer will provide technical specifications/borchures for product being proposed. (A) Surfacing -- contractor will: Clean, scrape and power wash court as need prior to installing any resurface/coatings, apply a sand-filled acrylic resurfacer in two layers over the entire area, appply two layers of spinflex (or equal) color coating in two colors over entire area, apply a third color finish coat over entire area, line court to Inline Hockey standards with one undercoating to prevent fuzzy lines and two white coats textured to match new surface. (B) Lighting -- contractor will: furnish and install a twelve circuit panel, furnish and install switch and photocells for lights, furnish and install four each 30 foot poles with three each 1000 watt metal halide fixtures installed on each pole. Contractor will provide and install two each Douglas Industries Basketball system, (or equal) to include goal post with 6 foot extensions, steel backboard and rim. Contractor's proposing other than listed manufacturer will provide specifications/brochures for product being proposed. In the event unsuitable soil is encountered below the 6 inch level contractor will cease all renovation and immediately contact the proper Morale, Welfare and Recreation representative. Upon verification of unsuitable soil encountered the contractor will obtain Contracting Officer's approval for additional work prior to work being initiated/accomplished.
