Z -- PHASED RENOVATION PROJECT TO EXISTING FACILITY, GENERAL MAIL FACILITY (FORT POINT STATION), BOSTON, MA SOL 082530-99-A-0104 DUE 062499 POC Gregg Thompson, Project Architect (617) 451-3333 or Douglas Palmer, Project Manager (860) 285-7121 M On or about Tuesday, May 25, 1999 the United States Postal Service, Windsor Facilities Service Office, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT will issue a solicitation for the phased renovation of approximately 25,000 square feet of space in the General Mail Facility located at 25 Dorchester Avenue, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. Sealed offers are due on or before Thursday, June 24, 1999 no later than 4:00 pm EST. Award will be based upon price and other factors. The evaluation factors are outlined in the solicitation package. There will be a preproposal meeting held on Thursday, June 10, 1999 beginning at 9:00 am in Room 3001B of the Boston General Mail Facility to review the project specifics. THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC OPENING OF THE PROPOSALS AND THE RESULTS OF THE ADVERTISEMENT WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED UNTIL AWARD OF THE PROJECT. PLEASE NOTE: This replaces Solicitation No. 082530-99-A-0080 issued for the prequalification of contractors on March 15, 1999. Work includes but is not limited to providing all materials, labor and equipment required to complete the renovation of the Fort Point Station Post Office into a new Postal Retail Store as well as the relocation and renovation of other postal operations in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by ICON Architecture, Inc. The work will include carpentry, flooring, ceilings, finishes, security, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and roofing. The estimated cost of construction is between $3.4 million and $4.3 million with construction completion no later than 480 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
