The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is interested in obtaining information from any commercial sources for the procurement/lease of 588 Light Capability Rough Terrain Forklifts. This request for information reflects a change in capabilities from those stated in the Request for Information posted in the CBD on 24 December 1998. The forklifts must contain the following capabilities: extendable (telescopic) boom technology; capable of handling 3000-6000 pounds; capable of loading and unloading 8' x 8' x 20' ISO containers; length of 200 inches; width not to exceed 96 inches; height not to exceed 96 inches with cab, 78 inches with cab removed; diesel engine powered, automatic transmission, curb circle of 28 feet; minimum lift height 172 inches, capable of loading and unloading vehicles from one side; capable of all wheels, crab and rear wheel steer; capable of 4-wheel drive. Potential sources are requested to send a letter of interest, capability, detailed descriptive data, and commercial catalog or price list to the Marine Corps Systems Command by 10 June 1999. This is not a request for proposals. No contract will be awarded on basis of response hereto, nor to any follow up information subsequently solicited. The USMC will not reimburse costs incurred by prospective sources while acting to satisfy this request.
