49 -- RESISTANCE SPOT WELDING MACHINE SOL N00019-99-R-1541 DUE 062499 POC Mary Dodds, Contract Specialist (301) 757-8970 or Janice Woehrer, Contracting Officer (301) 757-8961 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to contract for a commercial off-the-shelf three-phase, press-type, microprocessor controlled electric resistance spot welding machine. The machine shall be capable of welding as a minimum the following material thickness: Aluminum, 0.012+0.012 in. minimum and 0.064+0.064 in. maximum; stainless steel (300 series) 0.012+0.012 in. minimum and 0.070+0.070 in. maximum; and mild steel 0.012+0.012 in. minimum and 0.125+0.125 in. maximum. The equipment shall include the following specifications: throat depth of 48 inches, electrode force, air pressure system, electrode stroke, lower arm, transformer rating, welding capacity, water circuit, control type, air pressure regulating system, circuit breaker, frame, water cooling, welding transformer, secondary circuit, chiller, and controller. Drawings, inspection responsibilities, operating and maintenance manuals, installation, and training shall be provided. The firm fixed price lease/purchase with option to buy contract shall include base period with four one-year options. The RFP is expected to be released on or about June 24, 1999.
