Notice of intent to purchase thirty two (32) Nickel -- Cadmium Battery packs, NSN 6140-013-19-9617, Raytheon Co P/N G431287-50 or equivalent, in accord with Raytheon Specification Control Drawing G309202. The Government intends to award a sole source purchase order to Brent-Tronics Inc, Commack, NY under FAR 6.302-1(a) for these batteries in the next 30 days for delivery within 120 days ARO. Each battery pack is approximately 2.5 inch x 3 inch x 4.6 inch and contains eight (8) 1/2 AAA Nickel cadmium cells (SAFT Part No .070PT or equal) in series, two (2) sets of three (3) each D nickel -cadmium cells in series (SANYO KR-5000DE) and one thermistor RTH06BS102J in accordance with MIL-T-23648. The case is flat-black metal, electrically isolated from the cells. The external connector is MIL-C-24308/4-11. The eight 1/2 AAA cells provide a nominal 9.6 VDC with a capacity of .06Ah at C and .07Ah at C/10 and an output current of 10mA from 25o C to 75o C . The string must be tested to ensure a voltage at least 8V after discharge at 35mA for 120 minutes. Each set of three D Cells provides a nominal 3.6VDC with a capacity of 3.5Ah at C and 4.2Ah at C/10, with an output current of 7mA and a charge current of 0.5 mA. Each D-cell string must be tested to ensure a voltage of 6V after discharge of 3.5 amps for 60 min. The battery packs are to be used in Milstar Terminal Access Controllers, P/N G285126. The battery pack is currently produced by Brent-Tronics Inc, Commack, NY, CAGE Code 51828.
