17. SUMMER SCHOOL PILOT PROGRAM, SOURCES SOUGHT, SOL N/A. The
Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is conducting market
research to identify potential sources for the services described
below. This is not an announcement of a requirement that currently
exists instead it is a request for information from sources that supply
the following services. This announcement does not, in any way, commit
the Government to procure any services described in this announcement.
DoDEA runs schools for Grades K through 12 located on military bases in
the U.S. as well as Europe, Iceland, Turkey, Bahrain and Asia. For more
information about DoDEA, consult the DoDEA Website at
http://www.odedodea.edu. DoDEA is considering offering summer school
programs at several of its schools worldwide. DoDEA is contemplating
obtaining services to run these programs from non-DoDEA sources such as
private industry. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT PAY FOR INFORMATION SUBMITTED
IN RESPONSE TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT REQUEST. THE GOVERNMENTWILL ALSO NOT
PAY FOR ANY COSTS INCURRED IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS INFORMATION. Any
information submitted in response to this sources sought request will
not be returned. DoDEA requests information from all interested
parties about the possibility of providing a summer school program for
up to 40 communities around the world during the summers of 2000 and
2001. The summer school program could be a 4 week, 4 hours per day
pilot program offering both enrichment (advanced learning) and
remediation (basic skills) in fine arts, humanities, reading, writing,
mathematics, science and foreign languages. DoDEA is interested in
learning more about both credit and non-credit courses that meet this
need. DoDEA is interested in receiving information about potential
programs that could be provided in 14 foreign countries, 8 States and
the Commonwealths of Guam and Puerto Rico by potential contractors.
Interested parties have 20 days from the publication date of this
synopsis to submit descriptions of their capability to meet some or
this entire potential requirement. Parties should also submit the
standard contractual terms and conditions under which they supply these
services to other organizations including local educational agencies,
as well as past experience providing these services (with references)
and basic pricing information. Large and small businesses including
nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher education are
invited to respond to this request for information. Please include your
