The purpose of this advertisement is to seek sources of manufacture for the underwater umbilical cable described below. The umbilical cable is for use with a Perry Triumph Remote Operated Vehichle (ROV). The requirement is for a lightweight, small diameter cable that allows full operability of the ROV functions. Design parameters: The cable shall not exceed 1.25" total diameter to allow for its use on the existing handling system. A cable diamter of less than 1.25" is desirable. The cable shall have a minimum working load of 15,000 lbs. Cable length will be 4,500 feet at a 1.25" diameter, however up to 5,000 may be purchased if cable diameter is decreased. Cable Construction: 4 each Twisted sheilded Quad (TSQ). #20 AWG TC with sheild/tape: #11 AWG TC. 3 each Power Conductors, #12 AWG TC, SCPE coated. 4 each Conductors, #14 AWG TC with sheilding from power conductors. 4 each optical waveguide, single mode fiber with polyester buffer in Kevlar Armor. Armor, may be either Kevlar or Galvanized Improved Plow Steel (GIPS) wire. Jacket: If armor is Kevlar, a full length High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) jacket is required. If armor is GIPS, a jacket is desirable but not required. Sources desiring to fulfill this requirement are requested to contact (preferably email) the Project Engineer identified in this notice with technical solutions. It is anticipated that after refinement of the statement of work there will be a follow-on competitive solicitation to meet this requirement. Posted 05/25/99 (W-SN335417). (0145)
