SYNOPSIS ADDITION This program is a 6.2 Exploratory Development effort where fuel control technology will be investigated for the purpose of im- proving three specific areas: 1) Engine performance & diagnostics; 2) Affordability; 3) Obsolescence/Upgrade control. Towards this end, a baseline turboshaft must be selected and used in order to validate the degree to which the program goals are met. The base- line engine may be a qualified military or advanced development turboshaft. This effort is not a Component Improvement Program (CIP). The technology developed in this program will not only have application in future Army turboshaft engines, but will also be transferable to fielded engines as well. Posted 05/25/99 (W-SN335413).
