E-MAIL: NA, NA. SYNOPSIS ADDITION This program is a 6.2 Exploratory
Development effort where fuel control technology will be investigated
for the purpose of im- proving three specific areas: 1) Engine
performance & diagnostics; 2) Affordability; 3) Obsolescence/Upgrade
control. Towards this end, a baseline turboshaft must be selected and
used in order to validate the degree to which the program goals are
met. The base- line engine may be a qualified military or advanced
development turboshaft. This effort is not a Component Improvement
Program (CIP). The technology developed in this program will not only
have application in future Army turboshaft engines, but will also be
transferable to fielded engines as well. Posted 05/25/99 (W-SN335413).
