This acquisition provides for an update to the Advance Development Laboratory (ADL) equipment designed and developed by General Dynamics Defense Systems. The ADL equipment is used in support of the development of Fire Control Software for the TRIDENT II Strategic Weapons System. During the initial 90-day performance period of the contract, the contractor shall 1) update ADL hardware and software to support current Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) program requirements, 2) maintain the updated equipment, and 3) conduct a feasibility study to identify hardware and software required to support additional enhancements to ADL equipment to provide a higher fidelity of capabilities for SLBM program requirements. The one-year option period will provide for the implementation (development, installation and maintenance) of the feasibility study results. This acquisition will be fulfilled through other than full and open competition with General Dynamics Defense Systems, 100 Plastics Avenue, Pittsfield,Massachusetts 01201-3698.
