The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations having in-house capability to provide technical support for enhancing and increasing the availability and accessibility of NIDA information to a broad variety of publics. Specifically, to: (1) further publicize, oversee and refine operation of NIDA's already successful NIDA INFOFAX system; (2) provide writing services, particularly for press and/or publicity-related items, as needed; (3) provide Spanish audio and written translations, as needed; (4) provide clear-cut marketing plans for a variety of projects, to establish continuous monthly exposure of NIDA products to the public; (5) provide unique and striking graphics to accompany the marketing and/or products themselves; (6) conduct focus group testing as needed for products; (7) oversee marketing activities, including coordinating placement of products; and (8) provide regular evaluations for effectiveness of the products and of the impact of dissemination and marketing. Organizations submitting proposals should demonstrate extensive experience in public health communications and a high understanding of the capabilities and services from, and products available through, the National Institute on Drug Abuse and other NIH institutes, as well as state-of-the-art fax-on-demand systems. Specifically, organizations submitting should be capable of providing whatever staff and effort are necessary to: (1) demonstrate extensive experience in public health communications; (2) create, through computer graphics, a readily identifiable design for this NIDA service; (3) write and edit, as well as translate into Spanish, scientific material in language easily understood by a broad variety of publics; (4) demonstrate experience in developing marketing strategies and producing marketing and advertising materials; and (5) be capable of ensuring operability of the fax-on-demand system at 99% efficiency. This will be a three-year contract.
