COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 27,1999 PSA#2355BIOFILTRATION OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITIES The Tennessee Valley
Authority (TVA) is considering offering rights for exclusive license(s)
to make and sell biofilters utilizing TVA-developed proprietary
techniques and know-how for the control of odors in wastewater
treatment facilities. The grant of such license(s) will be subject to
TVA's reservation of a license on behalf of the U.S. Government to make
or have made, use, practice and have practiced the invention. For
exclusive licenses, the period contemplated for exclusivity is 8 years.
Consideration will also be given to several exclusive licenses based on
geographic areas. This technology utilizes selected microorganisms
immobilized on a solid support matrix. As the odor compounds pass
through the filter bed, pollutants are oxidized, forming carbon
dioxide, water and salts. Parties interested in this technology should
submit in writing a notification of interest within 30 days of this
notice to W. Keith Rylant, Tennessee Valley Authority, Post Office Box
1010, CTR 1L, Muscle Shoals, Alabama 35662-1010. Posted 05/25/99
