synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information
included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only
solicitation; quotes are requested and a written solicitation will not
be issued. (ii) Request for Quote number M00027-99-Q-0003. (iii) The
solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those
in effect though Federal Acquisition Circular 97-11. (iv) This
acquisition is not a set-aside. (v) Contract Line Item Number (CLIN):
0001; Item: Carbon Monoxide Alarms; Quantity: 13,483. (vi) Description:
The Marine Corps has a minimum requirement to install in all Marine
Corps owned-or leased housing units, CONUS and Overseas, which utilize
carbon-based fuel (NG, LPG, charcoal, coal, wood, kerosene, heating
oil) burning systems (ranges, water heaters, space heating and clothes
dryers). The CO alarms should meet the following minimum requirements:
Digital Display,Peak Level Memory, Electro Chemical Sensor, AC powered
with battery back up (battery overseas), minimum three year warranty,
IAS 6-96/American Gas Association (AGA) Blue Star certification (this
is a USN standard). (vii) Required delivery date: Within 30 days after
effective date of order. Acceptance and FOB point: Destinations. Places
of delivery: Albany, GA (489); Beaufort, SC (1263); Parris Island, SC
(77); Marine Barracks, 8th & I, Washington, DC (6); Quantico, VA
(1593); Kansas City, MO (247); Chicopee, MA (100); Barstow, CA (375);
Camp Pendleton, CA (6,312); Twentynine Palms, CA (2,175); and Yuma, AZ
(846). Prices should be submitted FOB basis. (viii) The following FAR
provisions apply to this acquisition: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to
Offerors -- Commercial Items, (Aug 1998) plus any subsequent addenda.
(ix) 52.212.2, Evaluation -- Commercial Items. Award will be made to
the responsible offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation and is
found to be most advantageous to the Government, price and other
factors considered (Past Performance). Offerors must include a
completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offerors
Representations and Certifications (MAY 1999), with their quote. (x)
The clause at FAR 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercial
Items (MAY 1999), applies to this acquisition. (xi) The clause at FAR
52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions required to Implement Statutes
or Executive Orders -- Commercial Items (MAY 1999) applies to this
acquisition. In addition, the following sub-paragraphs under paragraph
(b) are hereby checked: (12), (13), (14), (15), (16), (19), (22),
regarding which, if any, additional FAR clauses cited in the clause are
applicable to this acquisition. (xii) Telephonic responses will not be
considered. Written responses (quotes) are due no later than 2:00 p.m.
