NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ-870-25070-0000/721) for 1. 4 each of an Electro-Mechanical Pan and Tilt QPT-90 with 24 VDC Motors Potentiometers and 435 degree rotation drive and heaters (Model Number 7-59005-HT) and 2. 4 each of Controller, with A/E meters, proportional joystick, zero calibration, presets and RS232 exit-port that is local and remote controllable, (Model Number C90AEPJRS232-DC24). This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Quickset Co., 3650 Woodhead Drive, Northbrook, IL 60062-1895. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration requires the purchase of these rotors to be used with an in-house software program that they have developed that is instrument specific. Purchasing rotors from any other source would require a minimum of eight to ten months of reprogramming the software already in use. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
