The United States Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistic Command, Pacific
intends to contract for the Dry-docking and Repairs of the CGC CONIFER
homemooraged at San Pedro, CA. This procurement is under the Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The work is to include
and not limited to: Buoy Deck Bulwark Renewal, Ultrasonic Measurement
of Hull Plating Thickness, Underwater body inspection (Partial),
Forepeak Tank Clean and Inspect, Fuel Oil Tank and Inspection, Main
Motor Air Cooler Inspect and Hydro, Propulsion shaft inpsection and
liner renewal, propulsion shaft thrust bearing, stern seal, and
pedestal bearing overhaul, propeller repair and inspection, heat
exchanger overhaul, fathometer transducer renewal, ventilation duct
cleaning, sea valve and waster piece overhaul, rudder & rudder stock
maintenance and rudder carrier renewal, bow thruster maintenance,
hydraulic cargo hoisting gear overhaul & test, level 2, cargo hoisting
padeye testing, ground tackel overhaul, allied D5000CTsingle point
davit overhaul, sewage piping cleaning, inspection and flush connection
installation, oily water separator installation, bilge preservation,
chain locker preservation, buoy deck preservation, underwater
preservation, freeboard preservation, zinc anode renewal, temporary
services, drydocking, weather deck preservation. The period of
performance starts 20 Sep 1999 and ending 12 Nov 1999. The solicitation
will be issued on or about the 14 June 1999. For Women-Owned and
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, The Department fo Transportation
(DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization
has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged
enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for
transporation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Programs (STLP) at the prime interest rates to
provide accounts receiveable financing. The maximum line of credit is
