construction of approximately 525 feet of steel sheetpile bulkhead.
Steel sheets are 40 feet long and are to be driven approximately 30
feet. Sixty-five (65) drilled soil anchors are to be installed to
provide an anchor system. Over 132 12" diameter timber piles will be
driven to provide timber fender system, including over 1600 l.f. of
12"X12" timber fender strips. Timber piles are to be 36.5 feet long
(every fourth one to be 40' long) and are to be driven approximately 25
feet. A steel channel wale made up of two MC 10 X 28.5 channels, is to
be welded to the steel sheets as part of the structural support
system. The wale is to extend the full 525 feet. Three 3-1/4" steel tie
rods are to be installed to provide the anchor system for the 22 feet
long steel sheetpile return wall. Solicitation documents will be
furnished on CD-ROM on or about June 21, 1999. One copy of the plans
and specifications will be furnished on CD-ROM to each bidder at no
charge. All requests for a solicitation package should be in writing
and sent to the attention of Jennifer McGivern. Requests may also be

physical address, telephone number, fax number, point of contact and
business size. Additional copies will be provided at a charge of $5.00
a CD, made payable to "USACE Finance Center, Millington". Bidders are
responsible for printing paper copies of the solicitation. Bids will
be opened on or about July 21, 1999 at 11:00 am. This procurement is
unrestricted. Estimated cost range of the project is $1,000,000.00 to
$5,000,000.00. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 1629 with
a size standard of $17.0 million. Liquidated damages will be specified.
