The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division will be releasing a solicitation (estimated mid-June 1999) for the purchase of twelve MK21 Initiator Firesets (2 First Article Units and 10 Production Units) along with a Level III Technical Data Package with unlimited Government rights. Options for multiple outyear quantities may be included in the solicitation. Subject solicitation (N00178-99-R-1055) will be issued on a competitive unrestricted basis with anticipated award scheduled for the last quarter of FY 1999. Contractors will be provided limited minimum requirements in the area of physical dimensions; however, beyond set physical dimensions, the design will be the responsibility of the contractor and the contractor's design and approach will be measured against best value criteria and past performance measures to make the Government's source selection decision.
