13 -- DISPOSAL OF SMALL ARMS FIREARM AMMUNITION POC Brian Wilkins, 202-927-7715, Fax, 202-927-8688 The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) is looking for sources to provide to disposal of small arms firearm ammunition (50 caliber or smaller) of various types services. The disposal may be by incineration, separation of the component parts, or other methods as specified in quotation. The component parts need not be destroyed, but may be lawfully disposed of or placed into commerce (recycled). The period of performance for this requirement is 10/01/1999 through 09/30/2000 with an option for two additional years. The contractor shall provide a designated location where firearms are to be shipped for disposal during the contract period. The contractor shall also provide Department of Transportation (DOT) approved shipping containers to ATF for the shipment of small arms firearm ammunition. The contractor shall provide ATF a sworn written document certifying the ammunition have been disposed of in accordance with the contract. Any procurement will be done utilizing simplified acquisition procedures under FAR Part 12 & 13.
