Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) intends to undertake a competitive procurement to upgrade or replace the existing robotic libraries within the NASA ADP Consolidation Center (NACC) located at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), Huntsville, AL under a multi-year lease type subcontract. The upgrade/replacement will result in the automation of all tape library mounts with new technology robotic libraries and the stacking and compression of data on high-capacity magnetic tape media via Vitual Tape Subsystems (VTS) technology. The systems proposed shall automate all active tape operational requirements and provide near-line access to all data currently stored in the NACC's five (5) Storage Technolgy (STK) silos and the NACC's off-line private tape library without manual intervention, excluding off site removal and storage of system backup tapes. Due to the nature of leading edge technology procurements, CSC intends to provide a draft copy of the statement of work (SOW) and Systems Management Facility (SMF) data by 14 June 1999 to those interested and responsible parties that respond to this announcement in preparation of a Pre-proposal Conference scheduled for 24 June 1999 at MSFC. It is the intent of CSC that all technical issues and various business issues will be addressed and resolved during or immediately thereafter and a formal Request For Proposal (RFP) will be issued on 2 July 1999. Interested and responsible parties shall provide sufficient information no later than 11 June 1999 such as company name, point of contact, a brief history of similar upgrades and/or replacements, mailing address, etc. via e-mail to this administrator at "tom.antoniel@msfc.nasa.gov" to allow shipment of the data described above by 14 June 1999.
