AIR CONDITIONER UNITS. RENTAL PERIOD: 7/19/99 THRU 1/19/00. LOCATION OF
SERVICE: Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA 23709-5000. UNIT
SPECIFICATIONS: (1) min. 75 ton capacity; (2) air cooled; (3) 460(v)
(2)- 500 amp breakers; (4) must be capable of reducing air temperature
by 35 degrees F; (5) must be able to run 24-hrs a day, 7-days a week;
(6) capable of supplying 480,000 btu/hr; (7) min. supply of 12,000
cfm; (8) inlet & outlet on unit shall be 12"; (9) unit shall be a
complete system; (10) weight shall be stenciled on unit in an easily
viewed position; (11) unit shall have pad eyes for crane movement; (12)
unit must be able to be moved by a forklift. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITY:
(1) delivery/removal at no additional cost; (2) provide all repair/and
or replacement parts associated with normal wear and tear at no
additional cost to the Government; (3) service/and or replacement of
unit shall be provided within 3-hrs notification by Government at no
additional charge. GOVERNMENT RESPONSIBILITY: (1) hook-up of unit; (2)
movement of unit within NNSY; (3) lost/damaged items beyond normal
wear and tear NOTES: (1) unit will be used for industrial application.
Equipment will be located in an area where grit exposure will be
minimized but not completely eliminated. The A/C unit will be exposed
to everyday weather, grit, paint and saltwater air. IT IS THE
CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE ANY PROTECTIVE COVERINGS FOR THE
UNIT. (2) The Government reserves the right to return one (1) or all
units at any time prior to the expiration of the rental period. The
contractor agrees to prorate costs for the time the units are in use by
NNSY only. The Government shall provide the contractor with 24-hr
notice for return of units prior to the expiration of the established
rental period. NOTE: All offers shall include daily, weekly, monthly
rental rates as applicable in the likelihood charges must be prorated.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: DFARS 252.204-7004 "Required Central Registration"
applies. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an
offeror/quoter INELIGIBLE FOR AWARD. Information can be obtained

synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
FAR 13 and the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. The associated Standard
Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 3585 and the Small Business
Standard is 750. This announcement constitutes the ONLY solicitation;
quotes are being requested and A SEPARATE WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT
BE ISSUED. Solicitation number N00181-99-Q-00141 applies. The
solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those
in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-10 and the Defense
Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement 1998 Edition. FAR 52.212-5,

Applicable to Defense Acquisitions of Commercial Items applies and
shall include 252.225-7036 (ALT I), Buy American Act -- North American
Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act -- Balance of Payments Program
; 252.225-7012, Preference for Domestic Commodities. NNSY's Mercury
Free Clause applies. A copy of this clause is available upon request.
All offers shall be evaluated for fair and reasonable price, technical
acceptability, adherence to applicable clauses, provisions, delivery
schedule and satisfactory past performance record. This procurement is
being conducted under Simplified AcquisitionProcedures. All quotes
must be received no later than 3:30 PM local time, 07 JUN 99. Responses
relative to this solicitation should be faxed to Karen England, (757)
396-8503. Parties responding to this solicitation may submit their
quote in accordance with their standard commercial practices (e.g. on
company letterhead, formal quote form, etc.) but must include the
following information: (1) Company's complete mailing and remittance
address; (2) discounts for prompt payment; (3) anticipated delivery of
material; (4) Cage code; (5) Dun & Bradstreet number (DUNS); (6)
Taxpayer ID number; (7) COMPLETED certification as may be required
