ensemble in a transport-AMC cofiguration with level IIIA armor. Both
pieces in Ultimate Terra color. Dual use system which incorporates the
Aircrew Survival vest (NSN:8415-01-450-3205) with the composite body
armor (NSN:8470-01-450-3144). Both items shall be able to stand alone
but must be designed to work together into an integrated set.
Manufacture/Part Number of the set: Air Advantage/ SVA-3AMC. Survival
Vest discription: Shall be constructed of high strength Raschel knit
mesh that is durable and fire retardent. Two permanent on-seam hand
pockets with tabbed snap closures, and two permanent inside tear away
low profile pockets. Pockets shall be constucted of high strength, fire
retardant Cordura. Vest shall have affixed mutiple rows of female Snap
Track attachment devices. Gear pockets shall include sewn-in-place
lanyard attachment loops, have zipper and snap closures, and must have
affixed one or more male Snap Track attachment devices. These
attachment devices allow removable/attachment of all pockets to the
vest. Vest shall be supplied with pockets in the AMC configuration.
Vests shall be one size fits all with adjustments at the waist and
shoulders. Must be fire retardant to FAR 25.853. Composite Armor
description (soft body): Must be certified to the level IIIA protection
level as defined by NIJ Standard-0101.03. Armor vest should
additionally meet the requirments set forth in MIL-STD-662E for
V50BL[P] fragmentation. Armor will be constructed from non-woven,
undirectional aramid fiber, composite ballistic material having an
areal density not to exceed 1.2 pounds per square foot. Material must
be inherently waterproof, buoyant (vest must float), hermetically
sealed, and resistant to UV light degradation. Armor panels shall be
removable and covered in fire retardant, washable fabric. One-size
fits-all construction with shoulder and side protection. Silent, quick
release adjustment buckels at the waist and shoulders for adjustment
to a snug fit. Armor must incorporate Snap Track attachments for
intergration with Snap Track pockets. Panel covers shall have sewn in
pockets to allow addition of soft trauma packs, or ceramic or other
armor plates for additional protection up to NIJ Level IV. Carriers
shall be fire retardent to FAR 25.853 and NFPA 701. When calling, be
