488-2648 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
contemplates award of a five year contract, entitled "Vaccine Adverse
Event Reporting System (VAERS)". This project is sponsored jointly by
the CDC and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). As required by the
National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NVCIA), P.L. 99-660, the
purpose of this project is to provide a single nationwide mechanism by
which vaccine adverse events (VAEs) occurring after receipt of
vaccines as specified in NCVIA are collected and analyzed. It is
additionally intended to provide the same reporting mechanism for all
other VAEs not specified by the NCVIA. Written requests for copies of
the solicitation will be honored if received within 15 days of the RFP
issue date, which will be on or about June 18, 1999. Requests received
after that date will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis until
the supply is exhausted. The date specified for receipt of offers will
be approximately 42 days after the RFP issue date. Requests for copies
of the RFP must cite the RFP Number: 1999-N-00115. Telephone requests
will not be accepted. All responsible sources may submit an offer which
