materials and services to map benthic habitats within the Apalachicola
Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR). The NOAA Coastal
Services Center (CSC) and Florida Department of Environmental
Protection (FDEP) are working together to map benthic habitats within
the NERR. Contractor to use a combination of techniques, including
traditional benthic sampling and sediment profiling imagery (SPI).
Contractor shall provide: the equipment and crew needed to obtain the
SPI imagery; photographic processing and base interpretation of the SPI
imagery; a Shipek grab, associated sampling gear and crewmember;
processing of the grab samples for sediment texture and benthic
community analysis. The FDEP will provide the research vessel, captain
and one crewmember. CSC will provide one crewmember. The fieldwork
will be done during October 11-29, 1999 (primary sampling period), with
an additional period reserved during November 1999 for weather and
vessel-related contingencies. All deliverables are due to CSC by
January 31, 2000. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall
be considered by the agency. Copies of the solicitation will be
provided in response to written or faxed requests received directly
from the requestor. Telephone requests will not be honored. Requests

received by June 29, 1999 will be considered for award. Award will be
