Hara, A/E Project Manager, Teng & Associates, 312/616-7524 The United States Postal Service is soliciting proposals for the construction and lease back of a new Main Post Office in Byron, Illinois. The USPS controlled site size is approximately 32,540 square feet. The building size desired will be approximately 5,075 of interior square feet, and approximately 24,100 square feet of parking and maneuvering area. The selected offeror will be required to purchase the site currently under option to the Postal Service, construct a Post Office according to plans provided and lease back the completed facility to the Postal Service for a base term of twenty (20) years with two (2) 5 year options. The Postal Service will also have the option to purchase the completed facility at the end of construction and at the end of the first year of the lease term. A Postal Service lease agreement will be used. The Postal Service reserves the right to negotiate with any and all offerors.
