The Navy requires 550 each flow formed SAE 4340 grade steel 5"/62 cartridge cases manufactured in accordance with Indian Head drawing 7263179. Lot acceptance testing will be required of 30 of these cases in accordance with MIL-C-18757/4C. The cartridge cases are thin walled cylinders approximately 33 inches long and five inches in diameter, with a inch thick closed end with a 1 inch treaded hole in center. Zinc plating in accordance with ASTM B633 is required. Delivery of the first 88 each is required F.o.b. Dahlgren, Virginia no later than 15 November 1999. The remaining units are required to be delivered F.o.b. McAlester, OK no later than 15 January 2000. Final inspection and acceptance will be performed at the contractor's plant. This solicitation is 100% set aside for small business concerns. The Standard Industrial Code is 3483 and the size standard is 500 employees.
