procure on an Other Than full and Open Competition basis 1) IPS5009
Real time partivcle size analyzer from Malvern Instrumetns, Inc. 10
Southville Road, Southborough, MA 01742 based on proprietary software
package which is required for the instrument to provide real time
particle size analysis. This acquisition is a 100% set aside for small
businesses under SIC code 3826 and has a small business size standard
of 500. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items
prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as
supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This
announcement consitiutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation
will not be issued. The requirement is for: 1 EA; IPS5009 Real Time
Particle Size Analyzer (standard EPCS-Eductor with NEMA 7 encxlosure)
Includes: Optical package optimized for materials ranging from .05 to
200 microns; standard 316 stainless steel interface; RTSizer v5.0 for
Windows NT; Pentium Computer (233 MHz minimum, Hewlett Packard), with
interface electronics and software pre-installed; IPS2008 High
COncentration module; IPS2006m Installation and training; Customized
process flow homogenization hardware; Communication cabling (from PC to
instrument); Pre-installation, installation and post-installation
engineering visits; and On-site system maintenance and software
training. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and
clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-11.
