The USEPA intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis, under the authority of FAR 6.301, with Pierburg Instruments, Inc., for the acquisition of two (2) replacement spare analyzers for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory (NVFEL), 2565 Plymouth Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Pierburg HTHC and HNOx analyzers are part of an integrated engine exhaust emissions analysis system. The testing services division needs to acquire spare Pierburg PM-2000 Chemilluminescent and Flame Ionization analyzers to support engine testing. Expedient replacement of malfunctioning analysers is critical to minimize test cell down time. The Pierburg analyzers poses unique temperature and gas flow control features which have been integrated into the engine exhaust emissions analysis bench. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.
