20050-6563 70 -- ADP SOFTWARE PRODUCTS SOL DPPO-RFI DUE 070199 POC Debbie Reece,
301-669-4721 The Defense Intelligence Agency on behalf of the Digital
Production Program Office (DPPO) and the Joint Intelligence Virtual
Architecture (JIVA) Office is seeking qualified sources capable of
providing the following complete commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS)
software products in order to develop a source list for future possible
procurement. These COTS products will be integrated for the DPPO to
provide a web-centric authoring, content management, workflow and
dissemination environment. The following paragraphs expound on these
four areas to provide a high-level overview and are further defined in
the DPPO Requirements Document which may be obtained upon request from
the following e-mail address: rbaird@nmic.navy.mil. 1. Authoring will
be implemented within each organization's authoring environment to
provide minimum impact of current operations. Authoring will automate
metadata tagging of content and use approved metadata tags and will
provide an automated capability that assists the author through
theentire content "publishing" process. 2. Content Management
capability will provide online access to current and previous/historic
versions of a document, will enforce version control over all content
and provide automated tools for creating multiple renditions. 3.
Workflow will provide an automated "chop chain" workflow process.
Reviewer/superivsor comments/instructions will be associated with the
document or use by others in the chop chain. Workflows will be based on
organizational hierarchy, finished product type and/or associated
metadata and will allow initiation of other workflow processes while
within a current workflow process. Workflow will provide flexible tools
that model a variety of content workflows and will provide a document
workflow history. 4. Dissemination will enable storage of approved
content in the appropriate data repository in XML format. Dissemination
will enable retrieval of content, by use of associated XML metadata
tags, from the "approved source" for viewing as a virtual document,
hardcopy printing and or CD ROM production. The target environment in
which these products must operate is both UNIX and Microsoft Windows NT
based networks. Submissions should be limited to 15 pages and should be
