70 -- ADP SOFTWARE PRODUCTS SOL DPPO-RFI DUE 070199 POC Debbie Reece, 301-669-4721 The Defense Intelligence Agency on behalf of the Digital Production Program Office (DPPO) and the Joint Intelligence Virtual Architecture (JIVA) Office is seeking qualified sources capable of providing the following complete commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) software products in order to develop a source list for future possible procurement. These COTS products will be integrated for the DPPO to provide a web-centric authoring, content management, workflow and dissemination environment. The following paragraphs expound on these four areas to provide a high-level overview and are further defined in the DPPO Requirements Document which may be obtained upon request from the following e-mail address: rbaird@nmic.navy.mil. 1. Authoring will be implemented within each organization's authoring environment to provide minimum impact of current operations. Authoring will automate metadata tagging of content and use approved metadata tags and will provide an automated capability that assists the author through theentire content "publishing" process. 2. Content Management capability will provide online access to current and previous/historic versions of a document, will enforce version control over all content and provide automated tools for creating multiple renditions. 3. Workflow will provide an automated "chop chain" workflow process. Reviewer/superivsor comments/instructions will be associated with the document or use by others in the chop chain. Workflows will be based on organizational hierarchy, finished product type and/or associated metadata and will allow initiation of other workflow processes while within a current workflow process. Workflow will provide flexible tools that model a variety of content workflows and will provide a document workflow history. 4. Dissemination will enable storage of approved content in the appropriate data repository in XML format. Dissemination will enable retrieval of content, by use of associated XML metadata tags, from the "approved source" for viewing as a virtual document, hardcopy printing and or CD ROM production. The target environment in which these products must operate is both UNIX and Microsoft Windows NT based networks. Submissions should be limited to 15 pages and should be pertinent and specific regarding COTS products, customer support, and any other information that would enhance the consideration and evaluation of the information submitted. This synopsis is for planning purposes only, and does not constitute a solicitation for bids/proposals. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this announcement.
