The Portland District, US Army Corps of Engineers, will issue a solicitation, No. DACW57-99-B-0014, for maintenance painting of the 40 ton Gantry Crane at the Big Cliff Dam, on the Santiam River near Eugene, OR. Work consists of commercial blast removal of the existing lead based paint from all surfaces and disposing ot the paint residue off-site. Painting does not include the interior of the Gantry Crane cab. The Gantry Crane is in good mechanical condition. The existing lead based paint is in fair condition, with a minor amount of rust. Tenative work schedule is: Mobilize to the site, clean surfaces of grease, install a containment tent, blast clean and dispose of blast residue off-site, paint existing Gantry Crane and platforms and ladders, protecting machinery from blast media and paint, de-mobilize. The new paint will be a three coat moisture-cure urethane paint system. All bidders shall be prequalified per SSPC-QP1 and QP2. The estimated cost range is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Invitation for bid will be available on CD-ROM on or about 5 July 1999 and bid opening on or about 5 August 1999. This procurement is open to both large and small businesses, the size standard of which is a concern including all affiliates, having average annual receipts for the last three years not exceeding $7,000,000.00.
