Z -- RENOVATION/MODERNIZATION OF WITS CABLE CONDUIT SYSTEM, BARC-WEST SOL 15-3K47-99 DUE 073199 POC KEINA BURRIER, Contract Specialist, (301)504-5888, fax (301)504-5009 The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture intends to negotiate non-competitively with Bell Atlantic Federal Systems Division, 58 L Street, NW, Washington, D.C. to procure the labor and materials for renovation and modernization of underground maintenance holes, direct burial conduits and reorientation of the existing WITS Cable Conduit System on the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center-West, Beltsville, Maryland. The work includes extensive excavation to expose damaged main campus-cabling, opening and closing of roads and walkways, refurbishment of existing damaged and inadequate maintenance holes and provision of transition pedestal to interconnect subterranean and aerial cabling. Bell Atlantic is considered the one and only source to satisfy this requirement because they are the service provider listed under the Washington Interagency Telecommunication System (WITS) mandatory contract to provide all local telecommunication services.
