In addition to performing general purpose cable tests, the upgrade cable tester will used primarily end use Nay's Trident MK4 re-entry body and Tomahawk Cruise Missile NWSS surveillance programs. Upgrade must be capable of testing cables with up to 1000 terminations for DC insulation resistance, 2-wire continuity, 4 wire resistance, and AC dielectric withstanding voltage. It shall also be capable of measuring AC and DC voltage. The contractor shall develop the upgraded cable tester by integrating a new computer station, test software, logic control assemblies, and instrumentation as needed into the existing model 8210 system. Equipment rack, switching assembly's Model 8213-44 and connector panels from the existing console may be utilized in the new system. The contractor shall inspect, refurbish, and perform minor repairs if needed on any existing equipment that will be utilized. When completed and installed the upgraded cable tester as a whole shall meet the specific requirements. The requirement is a sole source action to be awarded as a new contract to DIT-MCO International, Kansas City, MO. Anticipated award date 09 Jun 1999, delivery shall be 120 days ARO.
