MEMBERSHIP IN THE JOINT INDUSTRY PROJECT (JIP) TITLED "DRILLING ENGINEERING" SUBJECT: Membership in the Joint Industry Project (JIP) titled "Drilling Engineering Association Project No. 44, (DEA-44, Phase V)". DESC: The U.S. Department of Energy's Federal Energy Technology Center (FETC), Pittsburgh, PA intends to award a purchase order on a sole-source basis to the Drilling Engineering Association (USA), C/O Maurer Engineering Inc., Houston, TX. The objective is for the JIP to: 1) Transfer technical information on DOE/FETC's Drilling, Completion, and Stimulation products & technologies to a broad audience; and 2) Leverage RD&D funding via resource pooling. Twenty six tasks have been identified to be accomplished during the two year term of this JIP. This purchase order is being issued to the Drilling Engineering Association (USA), C/O Maurer Engineering Inc. because they are unique in that it is the only known JIP on the topic. The project is in-place from prior DOE/FETC and industry funding, and DOE/FETC is seeking to enhance its (DOE) technology transfer effectiveness. This request is considered to be sole source to the Drilling Engineering Association (USA) C/O Maurer Engineering Inc. Therefore, no solicitation will result from this announcement.
